Supposedly, Hemingway once wrote a story in six words: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn." I'm no Hemingway, but I dig the idea of ultra-short stories.

One day it wasn't there. Then one day, it was. A new island had risen off the coast of New Jersey. The lead man on the lead dinghy was holding the Stars and Stripes to plant in the sand.
